You have arrived at Illum Motorsport, the company behind young racing driver Lauge Illum from Solrød Strand, south of Copenhagen. In 2027 Lauge races the full Radical Cup Scandinavia season in a Radical SR1 with race number 58. Who is Lauge Illum?
Lauge is 17 and has raced karts for seven years. In his first real car race, the season finale at FDM Jyllandsringen in September 2026, he finished 4th in the SR1 class.

Seven years in karts. Now in a race car.
Lauge Illum is 17 and lives in Solrød Strand, south of Copenhagen. He has raced karts for seven years and attended Roskilde Racing School. He is a member of ASK Hedeland and races karts at Roskilde Racing Center and Københavns Gokart Bane. In 2026 he raced in the Rotax Senior class for RaceCraft Driver Academy.
After a strong test in a Radical SR1, he was offered a seat in the season finale at FDM Jyllandsringen with two weeks' notice. It was his first real car race, and he finished 4th in the SR1 class.
Lauge is in his second year at Solrød Gymnasium (upper secondary school), and when he is not racing he plays the guitar.
Alongside the Radical season, Lauge keeps training in karts and races in sim racing. His dream is to race GT3 or LMP prototypes.

How Lauge races
Lauge drives a Radical SR1 in Radical Cup Scandinavia for the team RaceCraft Driver Academy. Illum Motorsport handles partners, finances and logistics, while the team provides the car, an engineer and a mechanic.
The car
Radical SR1 XXR
A true sports prototype, built in England for the track only. The SR1 is the first step on the Radical ladder, and its low weight and high downforce make it the car many drivers learn their craft in.

The series and the team
Radical Cup Scandinavia
The largest Radical series in the Nordics and an official Nordic Championship since 2025. Around 20 drivers from Norway, Sweden and Denmark race at some of Scandinavia's best circuits.
Close, equal racing
The cars are nearly identical. The driver makes the difference, which means close racing from start to finish.
Big race weekends
Several of the Swedish rounds run alongside the STCC, including GT4. That means race weekends with big crowds.
Professional team
Lauge drives for RaceCraft Driver Academy from Jægerspris, Denmark. The team owns the car and provides an engineer and a mechanic all season. It also runs drivers in karting and Formula 4.

All sponsors can buy extra guest places or a tailored customer event at one of the races. We only carry non-competing sponsors on the car, so your brand never sits next to a direct competitor. Sponsors from the 2026 season get benefits when signing a sponsorship for 2027.
High-speed ride with Lauge in the Radical
A flat-out lap as a passenger with Lauge at the wheel, for your selected customers, as a competition prize or for your high-performing teams. Helmet, safety equipment and a short briefing are included. Rides are always an add-on, agreed and paid for separately, and as a rule they do not take place on race days.
